Do Maxi-Cosi car seats fit in all cars?

Maxi-Cosi child car seats have been developed as universal car seats. This means that they should fit in almost any car. In accordance with the European safety standard ECE R44/04, car seats are universal if a specified minimum length of seat belt is required for installation. The car industry is aware of this. Car manufacturers sometimes fit safety seat belts that are just barely long enough for correct installation of child car seats. If the user manual of your car states that the seat belts are suitable for using universal car seats, this should not be a problem. However, we recommend that you try installing the car seat first before purchasing it. Your retailer can help you with this.

Why do I need a car seat?

The use of an approved child car seat is required by law for all children up to a height of 1.35 metres. This requirement applies to all countries that belong to the European Union. Car seats and boosters with ECE R44/04 certification meet the minimum requirements of this new law.
