Advisory to owners of a FamilyFix base

rondje

Dorel is voluntarily recalling all Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix bases produced before 3 March 2010.

The recall concerns a potential problem in the mechanical attachment of the IsoFix connectors to the base. As a result, the base does not offer the child the desired level of protection in case of an accident. The problem affects a minimal fraction of the FamilyFix bases sold.

Maxi-Cosi’s first priority is, as always, making products to help keep children safe. As a precautionary measure, owners are advised to refrain from using the FamilyFix until their base has been checked by the nearest retailer. No proof of purchase is necessary.

This advisory is relevant for the FamilyFix base only, which is recognizable by the product name on the side of the product. It does not apply to the EasyFix, EasyBase (2) or any other Maxi-Cosi product. While awaiting the FamilyFix check, parents can continue to use the Maxi-Cosi Pebble or CabrioFix infant seat with a regular seat belt.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience that this voluntary safety recall may cause and are fully committed to consistently delivering all of our products according to the highest quality standards. We take the trust that consumers place in our brands most seriously. Thank you for your cooperation.
