Product description

As a parent, your little one’s safety in the car is all that matters. The Maxi-Cosi Pearl securely "clicks” onto the ISOFIX base attached to your car’s ISOFIX. To provide maximum comfort, the car seat’s harness and headrest adapt to perfectly fit your growing child.

Looking for a follow-up car seat once little one outgrows their Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix? Then look no further, because that same car seat base you have been using to install our baby car seat, can be used with our Maxi-Cosi Pearl toddler car seat as well.

Pearl must always be installed with its compatible ISOFIX base, otherwise it can’t go in your car. The Maxi-Cosi Pearl is compatible with the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base. The base has ISOFIX connectors that can be attached to your car’s ISOFIX for a secure fit. Our user manual will guide you through the steps for its correct installation.

Once the car seat base is attached to your car’s ISOFIX, you can click the toddler seat onto it. Visual indicators on the base notify you when the toddler car seat is correctly secured. As soon as a correct fit is confirmed, you can leave both seat and base installed in the car. This way, every time you need to get in and out of the car, all you need to do is to fasten your little one’s safety harness.

At Maxi-Cosi we have carried over 50 million babies home from the hospital. As a leading specialist in child mobility, we make your little one’s safety our top priority. Our intuitive toddler car seats’ innovative designs protect your toddler, and carry you as a family happily into the future. External crash test centres, such as the German automobile organisation ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), regularly test our Maxi-Cosi car seats and bases for dynamic safety and ease of use.

The ADAC gave our Maxi-Cosi Pearl and Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix an above average score for safety. Not only is our Pearl car seat comfortable, its Side Protection System reduces the risk of injury should there ever be a hard side impact. The SPS will absorb the force from a side collision, making sure your child is well-protected.

Pearl is also easy to install. Simply snap it onto the FamilyFix base with a click and connect it to your car’s ISOFIX. You will receive a confirmation when it is correctly installed, giving you extra peace of mind.

Top rated ISOFIX toddler car seat

Maxi-Cosi Pearl should always be installed in combination with the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base, for an ISOFIX installation.

Safely install the car seat base by attaching it to your car’s ISOFIX connectors. Visual indicators on the car seat base confirm when it has been attached correctly. When confirmed, you can click Maxi-Cosi Pearl onto the base for the final visual confirmation. This way, correct installation is assured. Once the base and seat are both installed, you can easily place your little one in the car seat, thanks to the innovative easy-in harness that automatically stays open.

As your toddler grows, Pearl’s safety harness and headrest adjust to offer a perfect fit. For your little one’s comfort, Pearl has 5 reclining positions, from sitting down to sleeping.

Can I also install the Maxi-Cosi Pearl using the car’s seat belt?
No, that is not allowed. The Maxi-Cosi Pearl is ONLY suitable for installation together with the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix and to the IsoFix anchor points in the car.
Can I install the Maxi-Cosi Pearl on the front passenger seat?
Yes, if the car has IsoFix anchor points on the front seat, but we recommend deactivating the airbag or placing the front passenger seat in the rearmost position. Most cars, however, are not fitted with IsoFix anchor points on the front passenger seat. This means that it is often not possible to install the car seat on the passenger seat.
How many sitting and sleeping positions does the Maxi-Cosi Pearl have?
The Maxi-Cosi Pearl has five comfortable positions - from a sitting to a sleeping position - and can be easily adjusted from the front.
I am unable to adjust the headrest on the Maxi-Cosi Pearl. What should I do?
The headrest is also used to adjust the height of the shoulder belts. To adjust the headrest, you need to first open the belt buckle, flap it forward, and then loosen the shoulder belts. If you hold down the button behind the grey part of the cover, you can adjust the headrest by moving it up or down.
The back of the Maxi-Cosi Pearl knocks against the car headrest. What should I do?
If the car headrest obstructs the proper functioning of the Maxi-Cosi Pearl, such as when adjusting it into the reclining position, we recommend removing the headrest.
The belts are not the same length. Why is this?
Uneven belts may be caused by the incorrect guiding of the harness system. Check at the back of the car seat that the belts are not twisted and that the pull belt (that runs forward at the bottom of the shell) is in the middle of the system. Also check that the belt can move easily to and fro through the shoulder openings. For smooth movement, the belt buckle should be flapped forward completely. This belt buckle operates by releasing the belt tensioner. If the problem continues after you have checked this, consult your retailer.
When should I make the transition from a Group I seat to a Group 2/3 seat
For the safety of your child, we recommend using the Group I car seat (9 months to 3 1/2 years/9-18 kg) for as long as possible. Wait to switch your child to a next stage car seat until your child has reached the maximum weight limit or if the top of your child’s head protrudes above the top edge of the seat. As long as the back of your child's head is fully supported by the shell, we advise against making the switch just yet, so that your child can be offered the best possible protection.
