Product description

Many families own more than one car. So how great would it be to own a child seat that can be used in every one of them? The Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP is our lightest child car seat, good for easy switching from one car to the other.

No matter what car you drive, our Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP should fit. Because the child seat is attached with your car’s seat belt, it fits almost any car. Place Rodi XP on the back seat of your car and use the seat belt to buckle up. It is as simple as that.

At Maxi-Cosi, your little one’s safety is our highest priority. From infant carriers for newborn babies to car seats for 12-year-olds, we are here to help carry families happily into the future. External crash test centres, such as the German automobile organisation ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), test our Maxi-Cosi car seats on dynamic safety and ease of use.

When ADAC tested our Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP, we got a good score on safety. Our safe and comfortable Rodi XP car seat protects your child in case of a side impact, thanks to its Side Protection System. Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP’s SPS (Side Protection System) absorbs the force from an impact, reducing the risk of injury. This way, your child is highly protected.

Safe and comfortable choice

Switching from one car to another has never been easier. Our Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP is super light, making it easy for you to carry and transfer it to another car. The child seat fits most cars because it is installed with your car’s seat belt, a safe and comfortable choice.

The lightweight car seat stays comfortable, especially when your child gets bigger. Rodi XP has an adjustable headrest that adapts to your little one’s growth up until they’re 12!

Removable cover

After using it for a while, your child seat is likely to get dirty. Snacks or drinks may not always end up where they are supposed to. In case there’s a little accident, we have got you covered! Maxi-Cosi’s car seat cover is machine washable and can easily be removed.

Side Protection System protects child from harmful side impacts
I dropped my Rodi (SPS, XR XP, AirProtect) car seat on the ground. Do I have to replace it now?
No, that is not necessary if it was a normal ‘drop’ and not an extremely hard one or from a considerable height. When a car seat is dropped on the ground, it is not subject to the same kinds of forces as are exerted during a (serious) collision. There is therefore no need to replace the car seat.
What is the difference between the Rodi XP produced in the past and the current Rodi XP?
The ‘old’ Rodi XP (produced before 2007) has a Comfort Base that is used to adjust the seat into the reclining position. The ‘updated’ Rodi XP does not have a reclining position, but features a new and improved Side Protection System compared to the ‘old’ Rodi XP.
When should I make the transition from a Group I seat to a Group 2/3 seat
For the safety of your child, we recommend using the Group I car seat (9 months to 3 1/2 years/9-18 kg) for as long as possible. Wait to switch your child to a next stage car seat until your child has reached the maximum weight limit or if the top of your child’s head protrudes above the top edge of the seat. As long as the back of your child's head is fully supported by the shell, we advise against making the switch just yet, so that your child can be offered the best possible protection.
